Apple Hits 10,000 Apps: How Many Do You Have?

An avid iPhone app watch site has reported that Apple has reached a huge milestone — a grand total of 10,000 apps (or thereabouts, they concede).I certainly feel like I've looked at 10,000 apps and tested out nearly that many, but when it comes down to it, I edit quite harshly on my iPhone. I have honed it down to ones that I absolutely need or love, and get rid of those that are really just novelties and fun for a day.Even so, I still have about 40 essential apps on my iPhone (and that number looks to increase, since I'm crazy for new cool ones); so share with me — how many do you have?

I have been a vitamin skeptic for years, having experimented with different types of supplements off and on over the years. I took folic acid when I decided I wanted to get pregnant, and I encourage my mother to take calcium since the supplements have been shown to help women over 65 maintain healthy bone density. The more I read about vitamins, the more nutritionist and dietitians say to eat your vitamins and that the body processes micronutrients and antioxidants better from food. Additionally, vitamin deficiencies are not really a problem here in the US rendering supplements unnecessary. A compilation of studies on the benefits of vitamins A, C, and E indicate that they don't prevent cancer or heart disease. Some studies have even found that taking vitamins may shorten your life. Ahhh . . . the bitter ironies. I know we are all trying to be as healthy as we can be and I am wondering your stance on nutritional supplements. So tell me . . .Source

Yes! I take a multivitamin everyday.

Yes. I take a vitamin to fill in my nutritional gaps when I am not eating well.

I used to take vitamins, but now I focus on eating a well balanced diet.

I find the concept of donning pajamas and cuddling with strangers far creepier than the idea of hooking up with one stranger. (Not that I would do that, oh heavens, no!) Would you ever get into PJs, follow elaborate "no inappropriate touching" rules, and cuddle with a bunch of strangers?

Would You Ever Go to a Cuddle Party?

Yes. Because, as a single person, I have no other cuddling opportunities.

No. Pajamas, a face mask, and a scary movie are for "me time."

Maybe, if all the cuddlers look like Mark Ruffalo or Angelina Jolie. Not so much if they look like Donald Trump or Ann Coulter.

Should Book Technology Be Updated For the Movie Version?

In my Twilight gadget rundown from the other day, I noticed in the comments some mentions about Bella's tech being upgraded to reflect the year. Instead of 2004's old desktop and dial-up connection, she had a 2008-era black MacBook and fast Internet. Her lack of a regular cell phone in the book wasn't a glaring error in 2004, but in 2008, the filmmakers would have been remiss in not giving her a phone when every teen has one. And I loved the choice of the blackbook, but it did alter her characterization a little by making her seem more tech-savvy than book Bella. As a fan of both the book and the movie, the updating of the gadgets didn't bother me, because the book was published in 2004, but not specifically set then, so if the movie is taking place in present day, then 2008 technology is expected. But as a geek, I'm obviously biased in wanting to see newer gadgets, or at least, thoughtful prop placement, but as a book-lover, I could understand wanting to see the book portrayed on film exactly as you wanted it.
