Telling you about the fashion world's current penchant for leather trousers gives me the same sick feeling as when I reported the reemergence of the bare midrift. It's not a trend that should be approached lightly but it was seen on the catwalk at Givenchy and has now been worn by British fashionistas Alexa Chung and Emma Watson.
It's a trend that should be approached with a skip full of caution and is certainly not for the faint hearted. 
Silver nail polish is definitely not a brand-new trend, in fact, it was popular in the 80's and then re-surfaced about a year and a half ago with basic-coloured metallics like silver and gold. Many permutations like gunmetal, blue and chrome, spawned from the basics, while gold and silver seemed to fade with the season. Now it's back again and this time, we're seeing silver on some of Hollywood's hottest girls like Lindsay Lohan (spotted in Paris) and Paris Hilton (dressed up as a Pussycat Doll). 
Granny was on to something with her doilies, but she just needed some helpful hints from a contemporary mind to get them looking right. I'm finding doily motifs everywhere but under a piece of cake these days, but this time they're not so geriatric. From furniture, like David Eveleigh and Melissa Evans's laser-cut Doily Table (inquire for price), to rugs, dinnerware, photo-etched enamel-painted copper plates, and doilies reinvented in felt and vinyl, the five-letter word is being spoken in a new dialect.

My favorite Spring collection was Dries Van Noten. Graphic prints were an integral part of the eclectic collection. These calculated prints command attention and are stimulating to the eye.
