The
bright lights bold colour trend that was so hot this summer looks set to continue well into winter with the
stormy purples and
bold blue shades on the catwalks this season. Celebrities like
Sophie Ellis-Bextor have been working the look, sporting rainbow-hued eye makeup and look-at-me lashes. While I'm a huge fan of
MAC for ultra bold colours, their shadows can be expensive so I was thrilled to learn about the new
Front Cover Rainbow Eyes kit from
Boots.
Front Cover is a kooky, annual-style set that comprises of 25 eye shadows housed in a retro faux book cover.

This summer's hottest makeup trend was undoubtedly the
Bright Lights, Bold Colour look which eventually saw
Sophie Ellis-Bextor wowing the London club scene in rainbow false lashes and
Princess Eugenie dressing as Barbie in neon pink fake eyelashes. It seems that falsies are no longer just for drag queens or fashion shoots, especially when they come in carnival colours.
Right on cue
Eyelure have just launched a new line of false lashes in striking jewel colours.

I recently asked you if you were
still wearing bright skinny jeans and you gave a mixed response. Seems that Natalie Appleton is still backing the trend as she stepped out to party last night in bright orange skinny jeans and black boots. She tried to tone down the bright shade by teaming the trousers with a dark top and jacket but they're still quite overwhelming.

Bold, look-at-me
bright makeup is a key trend for this summer, and the look is set to get even more extreme for autumn/winter.
Proenza Schouler sent out models with bright blue eyeshadow, harking back to the 70s, and turning yet
another beauty no-no into a trend.
But how will this translate to real life? Would you wear blue eyeshadow or is it still a beauty blunder in your books?

OK, so I'll admit she looks a little scary in this picture, but Sophie Ellis Bextor was working the
bright lights, bold colour trend to the max, as she
partied at G-A-Y, this weekend.
I'm definitely not suggesting you go all-out, like Sophie, and copy her drag queen-esque false eyelashes, or rather scary wide-eyed look – but it's great to see a normally fresh-faced, girl-next-door type, working a more on trend, makeup look.
As the
new face of Rimmel, you'd expect that Sophie may have been learning some makeup artist tips, as well as how to take her makeup up a notch, for a big party night.
To get her rainbow bright look, just
- Although Sophie has used a lot of colour on her eyes, she stuck with classic beauty rules, and used a neutral, white shadow, just below her brows.

This is the sumer of bright, bold colours and look-at-me makeup. Think peacock blue, cream eyeshadow, with cerise cheeks and raspberry lips.
At the
Haute Couture shows, makeup artists were like magpies for the bright stuff – there were red berry lips at Valentino, lime and yellow eyeshadow at Dior and painted-ladies with purple eyes and bright red lips at Christian Lacroix.

When you think of office attire you probably think of dark coloured suits, dull blouses and boring shoes. However, as Sugar reader
jennyjenny proves this doesn't have to be the case. She injected a lot of colour in to her work wardrobe with this great
Spring outfit.
Here's what she's wearing:
- White Tank: Abercrombie
- Cardingan: Easel
- Skirt: Fei (Anthropologie)
- Bag: Chloe
- Shoes: Gap (they're dark denim w/ red stitching)

Nearly every girl loves to put on her favourite dress and glam it up for the weekend. It is now Friday (finally!) so I'm sure that's what plenty of you will be doing this evening. Sugar reader
adhusia added a shot of colour to her classic silk dress by wearing a
bright yellow cardigan. Here's what she's wearing:
- Silk dress: Cacharel
- Yellow cardigan: Essentiel
- Purple shoes: Friis & Company
- Bag: Chanel
- Earrings: Swarovski

Okay, maybe not quite
this bright but there are a lot of
red, green and
bright blue jeans currently available from high end designer to bargain High Street stores. The look has developed from last summer's penchant for Nu Rave where all the cool kids were wearing skinny red jeans with neon print t-shirts. This season the trend has relaxed slightly with harsh skinnies out and more flattering wide legged jeans in.

Marc Jacobs has pioneered the bright colour trend for Spring featuring it on the catwalks of both
Marc by Marc Jacobs and
Louis Vuitton.
These platform sandals obviously follow this trend and are clearly more wearable than
other shoes Marc has created this season but I can't help thinking of
scholl sandals for pensioners. Aside from the heel, they have a good sturdy heel.
