Trend Alert: Frills

This season's trends couldn't get much girlier. If floral wasn't too much for you, how about a floral frilly skirt? or a floral frilly blouse? There are plenty of options available on the High Street but the look was pioneered on the catwalk by Luella. The hip young things in London are rarely seen in anything BUT Luella. For example, Alexa Chung wore a pink tiered Luella dress to the Elle Style Awards, and Jaime Winstone loves her floral skirt.

It's a great fun trend and one that is relatively easy to wear. For the daytime, dress down a frill skirt with a printed t-shirt. Alternatively, work a frilly shirt in to a corporate ensemble. In the evening, opt for a frilly dress or dark print miniskirt with black tights. Be careful not to wear too many frills at the same time, this is a mistake Coleen McLoughlin made over the weekend and the result is a bit too try-hard. See below for some of the options on the High Street:

I have a frilled floral skirt from New Look and I love it! It is much like the pictured one from Topshop but was loads cheaper.

This is a really cute look, but I think it'd look best on thin frame bodies, not curvier ones like mine.

Frills are great,in moderation. For instance,I would only wear one frilly piece at a time, and I doubt it would have flowers and frills all on the same garment. I want to look stylish, not granny.
